What Does My 2019 UCAT Score Mean?

Here, we answer some of your most frequently asked questions about the UCAT, including what’s a good score and percentile.

What is each section worth?

Students will receive a scaled score between the range of 300 – 900 for the UCAT subtests: Abstract Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Reasoning, and Verbal Reasoning.

In regards to Situational Judgement, full marks are awarded for a question if your response matches the correct answer. Partial marks are awarded if your response is close to the correct answer. Students can expect a scaled score when sitting the Situational Judgement subtest in the 2019 UCAT.

How do I receive my scores?

According to UCAT ANZ, a total scale score is generated by summing the individual scale scores of Abstract Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making and Quantitative Reasoning. Upon the completion of the UCAT, you will receive an email from Pearson VUE with instructions to access your UCAT ANZ Score Report through your account.

Your scale score for Situational Judgement will also appear in the email, which you will have to add onto your total score. In 2019, a total scale score ranges from 1200 to 3600.

What is a good UCAT score?

Since 3600 is the highest UCAT score, any scaled score close to this number will most likely have you sitting in the top 10 percentile.

How is the UCAT marked?

The UCAT is marked on the number of correct answers you give. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers. Your performance on one question does not influence which other questions are presented.

Situational Judgement: Full marks will be awarded for responses that exactly match the correct answer. Partial marks will be awarded for close responses to the answer.

When can I expect my final percentile score?

The final UCAT percentile scores will be accessible until everyone registered has sat the exam. Students should receive their results prior to university application deadlines in September 2019.
